Formal Protection for LGBT Americans Working for Federal Contractors

Although the majority of federal contractors have policies prohibiting discrimination of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Americans, on April 8, 2015, President Obama signed an Executive Order formally prohibiting federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
